We donate £7,700 to organisations

On the 12th February, organisations met at Ripley Cricket Club to receive their donations from the Bonfire Association, the total amount donated was £7,700. Although during the pandemic the Association kept donating to relevant organisations, this was the first year since 2019 that they were able to meet them.

The Bonfire’s chairman, Steve Hill, was at hand to present the donations to the local community groups and organisations, the beneficiaries were: Ripley Over 60s, Ripley Scouts, Pre-School, the Parish Council, Send Guides, Surrey Air Ambulance, Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, Surrey Search and Rescue and S.E.R.V., the volunteer motorbike couriers who transport blood for transfusion across the county.

The Bonfire Committee hope to see you all at this year’s event on Saturday 28th October.

Ripley Bonfire Celebrations – Saturday, 28th October 2023

To all visitors
When attending this year’s celebrations please be advised that last year some of our vendors (i.e. bar and food outlets) had trouble with their card readers.

This was due to the large crowd using so many mobile phones and such like devices, for which the signal from the local mast could not handle the high volume of users at peak times.

Whilst our vendors will still be taking card payments this year, we would like to advise all our visitors of this potential problem and advise you to bring some cash with you as a back-up.

Many thanks for your understanding and hope you all enjoy the evening.
